Syntech Systems will work as specialist UK consultants in partnership with Opticon Australia in their winning bid for the Victorian Department of Justice.

The project will advise on the future delivery of radio communications for all emergency services in Victoria over the next seven years. The strategy will take into account user requirements, best use, geographic conditions, network compatibility issues and emergency scenarios such as the bushfires of 2009. Key challenges will be to update system architecture and unify disparate systems, whilst maintaining a flexible and ever-growing network.

Syntech get to work on Project Octopus

Syntech Systems has been retained by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Fire and Rescue Authority to provide specialist technical and contract management support on a project to deliver a modern, resilient IP-VPN network to all of its operational and administrative sites.

Initially retained to undertake a requirements capture and produce a technical specification, Syntech’s role expanded to encompass management of the complete procurement process using a Buying Solutions Framework. Syntech is now working closely with the Authority, managing the delivery and testing of the network by the successful contractor. Henry Cressey, Head of ICT for the Authority says, “Syntech’s role has been key in driving this project forward and keeping it on track. Their support, expertise and advice has added value throughout. It has been money well spent”.
