Syntech is enhancing its market leading Airwave CDR (Call Detail Records) Analysis and Reporting Tool for the Airwave Tetra network with two new analysis modules.

The first module is a powerful new Billing Module for auditing Airwave's charging mechanism which now encompasses data from both Voice and Data Service CDRs. Users can easily analyse and report the key billing parameters of Busy Hour, 90 day rolling average and peak 90 day rolling average. This helps them deliver an efficent and cost effective service.

The new Data Service Analysis Module provides an even greater level of analysis and reporting capabilty. It provides all the information managers and decision makers need to optimise their use of the Airwave Data Service. They can now access the usage of status messages, SDS messages and, soon, IP ssessions. Understanding how data is being used and charged for enables costs to be minimised, data applications to be assessed and the total Airwave Service to be managed in the most efficient way.

The modules were exhibited at BAPCO 2010.

Hampshire Fire & Rescue
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service was seeking to replace the current data network with a IP-VPN provided by an external third party supplier. Syntech was brought in to help write the specification, Invitation to Tender (ITT) and to take part in the tender evaluation process.

The Solution

Image

Syntech's role was both as technical support, providing expert advice on the IP-VPN specification and its associated Service Level Agreement, and also as procurement support, providing advice on the tender structure, tender process and the evaluation of the tenders.

Syntech delivered the following outputs to the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service:

  • The technical sections of the ITT, specifying the requirements for the IP-VPN
  • A scoring methodology and scoring record in Microsoft Excel

Syntech also attended all the supplier interviews and took part in the selection of the winning tender.

Business Challenge

The main highlights and challenges of the project were working closely with Hampshire FRS to understanding their culture and their requirements.

Results

The outcome of the project was the successful appointment of a contractor to provide an IP-VPN to Hampshire FRS. Feedback from both the customer and the various Tenderers was very positive.

Key Services

  • Procurement and writing an ITT and technical specification for a Virtual Private Network (VPN)
  • Evaluation of proposals

Client Comment/Testimonial

"I was very impressed with the quality of their work, especially with respect to their technical knowledge and attention to detail. Their consultant was very easy to work with, clearly understood our requirements and quickly tuned in to the culture of our organisation."
