Data collection Assessing how the system behaves at the terminal gives a true picture of the operational service the user is likely to experience.
Syntech can analyse data collected from our own drive and walk test surveys or from user’s own collected data. Depending upon the details of the survey and the reasons why it is required, Syntech can select the most appropriate test and measurement system to deploy. Sources of data can include:
- Airwave supplied drive test data – e.g. Roscom Teria
- User collected data – e.g. Motorola SCOUT
- Syntech collected data using;
- Syntech’s own developed test & measurement tools
- Commercially available test & measurement equipment
- User’s own test equipment
Data Analysis
Collecting data is only part of the story. Processing and analysis is needed to turn the raw data into meaningful results and conclusions and this is where Syntech’s forte lies.
Coverage
Syntech offers a comprehensive coverage service to verify that coverage or service is being provided to contractual levels.

Revealing what’s happening
The way the radio network has been built and configured will define what operationally the user experiences. An incorrectly configured network will result in erratic performance showing up as dropped calls, out of service areas and poor voice quality. Even if sufficient signal strength is being provided, it will only be of use if the terminal affiliates to the base stations it should do. The terminal must also handover to the correct cell at the correct time to maintain service.
